Tea Biscuits

Three glazed tea biscuits on a bluebird china plate.

Tea biscuits (biscuits or scones as they are also referred to) can fit in with almost any meal. These biscuits have a sweet glaze which makes them ideal for enjoying by themselves. Served with butter or preserves they are a delicious snack. For a more savoury biscuit, simply eliminate the glaze. This will make them the perfect accompaniment for any soup, stew or casserole.

If you are looking at the recipe, you’re probably wondering where the butter is. In this case, the evaporated milk takes the place of butter. But don’t feel guilty about laying the butter to them!
